It is expected that JD(S) Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, who “fled” overseas during the investigation into charges of sexual assault against him, would turn himself in to the police.

Following the appearance of explicit video clips purportedly featuring the 33-year-old Prajwal, grandson of former Prime Minister H D Dev Gowda and ruler of the JD(S), in Hassan, the state government formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to look into the MP’s claims of sexual abuse.

Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah has declared that Prejwal’s activities will be monitored by the government to guarantee his return for inquiry. “We respect the law. We shall follow Prajwal Revanna’s movements to make sure he returns, the Karnataka CM continued.

PRAJWAL REVANNA IS LIKELY TO AGREE TO COPS ON HER FATHER’S SUGGESTION

HD RVANNA ARRESTED; SENT INTO CUSTODY TILL MAY 8

After a judge granted him relief in a kidnapping case brought against him, JDS leader and Prajwal’s father, HD Revanna, was taken into custody by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Saturday for suspected sexual assault of many women. A Bengaluru court remanded him to police detention till May 8.

He was the subject of a kidnapping report filed at Bengaluru’s KR Nagar police station. Revanna was charged with kidnapping in relation to the “obscene video” case, which also involves his son Prajwal. Revanna was taken to the Bengaluru CID office.

In relation to the kidnapping, police had also apprehended Sathish Babanna and taken the victim from a farmhouse.

H D Revanna said on Sunday that his son’s kidnapping and subsequent alleged sexual assault of the lady were the result of a political plot. The ex-minister, the son of the late prime minister H. D. Dev Gowda, is accused of kidnapping and unlawfully confining a mother of three children. The woman’s son filed the complaint on Thursday.

According to Revanna, there is no proof of his involvement in the case, according to the May 2 lawsuit filed against him. “There are no supporting documents for the May 2 complaint. A massive political conspiracy exists. When Revanna was brought to the Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital for a medical examination prior to appearing in court, he informed reporters, “A conspiracy was hatched against me.”

CONGRESS SAT ON EVIDENCE AGAINST PRAJWAL: SITHARAMAN

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman asserted on Saturday that, despite being aware of the situation, the Karnataka Congress administration did nothing to punish the Hassan MP for around a year.

Sitharaman said that the Congress remained mute till the first round of the Lok Sabha elections was done because it was worried it could lose Vokkaliga votes.

They chose to keep quiet till the end of the first Lok Sabha session because they believed they may lose the Vokkaliga votes. The BJP representative asserted, “Now they are pushing it and making it a big issue, which is typical of Congress and shows their hypocrisy.”
