The record for most goals scored in a Saudi Pro League season was broken by Cristiano Ronaldo, who at 39, continues to shatter records with his incredible goal-scoring talents.
Even at 39 years old, Cristiano Ronaldo is determined to keep breaking records with his amazing goal-scoring skills. The Portuguese player broke the Saudi Pro League record for most goals scored in a season. In Al-Nassr’s season-ending league stage victory over Al-Ittihad 4-2 in Riyadh, he scored twice. With two goals, Ronaldo broke the record held by Abderrazak Hamdallah, who scored 34 goals in the 2019 season while playing for Al Nassr. His total now stands at 35 goals in a season.
Despite having two chances in front of goal blocked in the first half, Ronaldo looked sharp from the moment the kickoff whistle blew on Monday. But in the dying moments of the first half, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner managed to give Al-Nassr the lead.
He scored the first goal with a low shot from the left side of the area after chesting down a long ball from Mohammed Al-Fatil. In the meanwhile, he scored a header from Marcelo Brozovic’s corner kick with 21 minutes left in the second half. The home audience gave him a standing ovation as he was replaced off the field after five minutes.
Ronaldo broke the Saudi Pro League record and then uploaded a post on social media.

The legendary Portuguese player also made history by being the first player to score the most goals in four separate leagues. During his remarkable career, Ronaldo earned three Golden Boots in Spain, one in the Premier League, and another in Serie A while he was a player for Juventus.
Ronaldo scored four hat-tricks and received a red card during his incredible season in Saudi Arabia. The most attention was drawn to a strange event in which the 39-year-old was punished for making inappropriate gestures at Al-Shabab supporters who were screaming the name of Lionel Messi, Ronaldo’s longtime rivals in football who currently plays for Inter Miami in Major League Soccer.
Al-Hilal, a local rival that won the title more than two weeks ago and went undefeated through the 34-round league on Monday, finishing 14 points ahead of Al-Nassr in second place.
