Renowned actor and comedian Shyam Rangeela declared his intention to challenge Modi in the Varanasi Lok Sabha by providing the Varanasi community with an exclusive voting option.
Lok Sabha Elections 2024
Comedian Shyam Rangeela, who is known for portraying Prime Minister Narendra Modi accurately, declared his candidacy on Wednesday. Rangeela said on his X account that he will challenge Prime Minister Modi for the Lok Sabha constituency of Varanasi. Rangeela declared in a video message that he is serious about running against Prime Minister Modi and that the rumors about him are true.
“After hearing that I would be running for office from Varanasi, I am thrilled by the love that I am getting from every one of you. After I go to Varanasi, I’ll send you a video message to share my opinions on my nomination and running for office,” he said.
Why is Rangeela contesting against PM Modi?
He went on to say, “You must be wondering why this was necessary, but India is a democratic country, and anyone can run for elections.” “My decision to run for election is motivated by some events that have occurred recently in Surat, Chandigarh, and Indore. Something similar seems like it may occur in Varanasi as well. There may not be a candidate running against Prime Minister Modi in Varanasi. Thus, I wish to provide them a choice,” he added.
Rangeela’s appeal to people of Varanasi
The comedian went on to say that, in contrast to Surat and Indore, his nomination will provide the people of Varanasi a choice while casting their votes. Additionally, Rangeela urged the Varanasi community to rally with him. He had questioned his fans on social media earlier on April 25 on whether he ought to submit his nomination as an Independent from Varanasi.
