The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is set to hold a rally at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi, marking the “Loktantra Bachao” rally. The event, which is expected to draw 20,000 attendees, is expected to be regulated by the Delhi Police.
Senior INDIA group leaders will attend the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) rally at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi today. The “Loktantra Bachao” rally comes just days after Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on money-laundering charges.
Expected strength for the “Loktantra Bachao” rally
The administration approved 20,000 people to attend the rally, but Delhi Police believe it will exceed 30,000. The AAP stated that the crowd could reach one lakh, the maximum capacity of Ramlila Maidan.
Major attendance at the “Loktantra Bachao” rally
Mallikarjun Kharge, the Congress chief, and Rahul Gandhi, the former party president, will attend the “Loktantra Bachao” rally. Former Congress President Sonia Gandhi may also attend the rally.
The mega rally will be attended by Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, Rashtriya Janata Dal’s Tejashwi Yadav, Nationalist Congress Party presidents Sharad Pawar and Sharadchandra Pawar, and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray.
Several other well-known political figures and members of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), including Derek O’Brien of the Trinamool Congress, Farooq Abdullah, the leader of the National Conference, Mehbooba Mufti, the head of the PDP, Champai Soren of JMM, the chief minister of Jharkhand, Champai Soren of JMM, Sitaram Yechury, the general secretary of the CPI (M), D Raja, and Tiruchi Siva of the DMK, will also be present at the rally.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of Punjab, along with cabinet ministers and AAP MLAs, will also be present at the rally.
Kalpana Soren, the spouse of the in-jail former chief minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, will also be present at the demonstration. On Saturday, Ms. Soren met Sunita Kejriwal, the wife of Mr. Kejriwal, at the Chief Minister’s residence on 6 Flagstaff Road in Delhi.

Allocated route for the “Loktantra Bachao” rally
Movement on the Ranjeet Singh Flyover from Barakhamba Road to Guru Nanak Chowk, Vivekanand Marg from Minto Road to roundabout Kamla Market, Hamdard Chowk, JLN Marg from Delhi Gate to Guru Nanak Chowk and Ajmeri Gate, roundabout Kamla Market to Guru Nanak Chowk and Chaman Lal Marg near VIP Gate, Guru Nanak Chowk to Turkman Gate from 9 am to 3 pm will be regulated and may be restricted, according to the traffic advisory issued by the Delhi Police.
From 9 am onward, there may also be a traffic diversion in place on Rajghat Chowk, Minto Road, DDU Marg, Mirdard Chowk, Paharganj Chowk, A-Point, and Delhi Gate.
